Pilates With Em

Who loves a pilates burn…? Me! I love teaching Pilates on the mat in public classes around Sydney and 1:1. It requires a specific attention to detail and really asks us to build on our own body awareness. When moving slowly and mindfully through each exercise we can get the most out of each action to build strength and an understanding of any imbalances. There is an element of control and concentration in every session that can enhance everyone’s way of moving.

The classical pilates method is also fantastic at focusing on the muscles and movements that make up our posterior chain leading to stronger postural alignment, in other words balancing out our daily habits of sitting at desks, on the phone, driving, breastfeeding, the list goes on! Our habitual daily movements affect how we operate over time which can sometimes lead to a compounding effect of chronic imbalance and in turn, injury or discomfort. This way of moving can benefit people of all ages and stages of life, a great style of class to do frequently or to supplement alongside other forms of training.
